10.31.2023 – The Worst Thing That Happened!!! 😦

The night back from Jeju my cellphone blacked out. There was nothing that I could do to make my phone respond, the internal part of the device works, but, the display or screen does not work. I went to the Apple store today in Myeongdong to get it serviced (the workers were really nice and knew what to do, they spoke English quite clearly too). At Apple, I did not need to pay anything out of pock

et until they were able to check that replacing or repairing the display would fix the problem. After the Apple technician replaced the display, the phone continued to not respond (also they didn't have enough display replacements for my iPhone series); in this situation, Apple offered me to replace the whole phone or they could reset my phone (which wasn't worth the money), but I did not want to reset because I would not be able to retrieve any photos or data within the device (so I basically, in the end, lost all my photos from day 1 in Korea until end of Jeju trip). One thing I regretted was not having iCloud+, which would have helped to have everything saved. So my current situation is using a really old iPhone that my boyfriend let me use as backup (plus I am switching my American and Korean sims when necessary).


Bring a backup phone to Korea + Spend those extra bucks for iCloud+. Hopefully, this advice could help someone in the future too 😭😭😭!!!
